These are just things I write, okay? Sometimes they're profound insights or funny stories and I'm really proud of them. Other times it's mindless rhetoric that I've since completely changed my mind about and am ashamed of. But most of the time it's just words.

Sold-Out Legos

Troll and I were at K-Mart checking out some toys. I noticed that they had Harry Potter Legos and commented that the Hogwart's Castle set was A) Frickin' huge and B) A better castle than a lot of the actual "Castle Series" sets. Some random guy in the same aisle heard my statement as well and came over to investigate.

"Wow," he said, "that is a big set."

Troll and I glanced at each other awkwardly, as we both make a habit of being anti-social and were unsure if Lego size warranted someone talking to us.

"You know," he continued, "I thought they would stop after the Star Wars Legos." Troll and I said nothing, as we had not known that, nor did it seem to make the slightest bit of sense. The man sighed, and sounded dissappointed when he kept taking. "Well, now they've gone commercial."

At this point I think I mumbled something vague that probably wasn't words. Troll seemed frozen on the spot, looking as bewildered as I felt. Eventually the man left, and we were able to laugh our heads off. I liked Lego back in the day, when it was just about brightly colored snap-together bricks, not about money. One major motion picture product tie-in was indie, but two major motion picture tie-ins is just greedy. You're selling your ridiculously expensive building block toys as if they were some kind of PRODUCT! And so on, and so on.
