Bowie's Area...

Hello.

(1/20/2006) - Just another lyrical analysis posted. I'm a little ashamed I never caught this one earlier, actually.

(1/17/2006) - The struggle between science and religion has spread to a new battlefield. You guessed it: David Bowie's Area. Read all about it here. One thing we know for sure, though. If you look at our background and choice of font color, that pretty effectively disproves the concept of Intelligent Design.

(5/15/2005) - Ha! Caught everyone off-guard by updating again so soon. I mean, it hasn't even been a year this time! Enjoy.

(4/1/2005) - No really, we did update! There's new stuff just about everywhere. You probably should start with the Explanation of where the site's been the last four and a half years, but we do realize you'd rather just jump over to the New Pictures. And since nobody ever gave us any mp3s (it was a long shot), there's now Acual Content on the Music of the Area page. It's safe to say there's so much brand new Areaological goodness posted today that you might need to recalculate your Purity Score. We've packed in so much that we had to expand the Alphabet to describe it. With all this new material you may find yourself asking a lot of questions. There's even more References, for those of you who can't handle original humor. Holy crap, look at those dates below me. They're like, ancient.

(9/5/2000) - At long last, the David Bowie's Area T-Shirts are here! Be sure to mail us sexy pictures of you in your new DBA shirt so that our WebMonkey can mastur... masterfully put them up on the webpage! Yeah!

(9/1/2000) - I'm a terrible person, aren't I? Almost two months. For shame. But now at long last there's a funny new picture up in the Areall Photography section. Enjoy. Soon there will be an update so wonderous you'll forgive our slack. Except for you really hard-assed spiteful unforgiving bastards, but what did you jerks expect?

(7/3/2000) - Finally another update, with things that required me to do suspiciously little work: A new crotch-related humor link and several more additions to the DBA Alphabet. Oh yeah, and I fixed the DBA Purity Test a few days ago, too. It wasn't scoring right. (Neither am I.)

(6/3/2000) - Those zany statisticians have further refined the DBA Purity Test with 25 more questions. Now you can test your Bowie's Area purity with even more accuracy, or just laugh at me. Also I took a broken link off the links page, which saddens me, because it was really weird.

(5/30/2000) - Not a new DBA update, but I put up 3 more strips for the Benchy Horror Comic Show, a parody of the Rocky Horror Picture Show, in My Little Fort. RHPS is pretty areaological, so I thought I'd tell you.

(5/26/2000) - I've added an update to the "Seanbaby Project" on the Current Research page.

(5/22/2000) - It's official, the New & Impoved David Bowie's Area page has been launched. Welcome to our new home, you'll find links to the latest updates here. Since I've just gone public with the new layout there's new things on almost every page, including but not limited to the FAQ, the Alphabet, the research, and there are some pages that are entirely new. You're just going to have to look around our Area a bit to find everything.

(5/11/2000) - As part of the new layout this page is becoming a What's New? update-log type of thing you can check to see whether or not I've been working, instead of the intermitant posts to make excuses why I'm not updating thing it usually was. All the entries below this one are pre-move news left on for nostalgia and the occasional chuckle. Nothing terribly relevant.

_____Line of Falsehood_____

(4/10/2000) - It occured to me that the frontpage makes it look like I had a brief stint of updating and then did nothing for several weeks, but THIS time that's not really the case. Since I'm getting ready to move the site in a month or so I've decided that now would be a good time for that major site redesign I've been pretending I was going to do. So I've been working on that instead of the other, more DBA-specific page ideas I need to write up. You probably won't be seeing new DBA stuff untill the site gets settled into its new home, and then there'll be a ton of All-New Exciting David Bowie's Area Humor and Art and All Kinds of Other Great Stuff by pyre That Hopefully Won't Completely Suck! Until then though, just go pester people in Forums.

(2/21/2000) - Well, I'm back to updating again, I'd like to apologize for letting it go so long without, but afterall that was what the message board was for, to cut me a little slack. Unfortunately, it also became another forum for people to bug me about not updating. Oh well. I'd also like to apologize to all the people who have emailed me that I haven't found the time to reply to. Your letters are appreciated, and I always read my mail, even if I don't always write back. Thanks for the support, folks.
I'd also like to mention that I'm currently looking for new hosting space, because I'll probably be kicked out of here in a few months. Just thought I'd warn you. We're not going away, just moving. Further bulletins as events warrant.

(8/11/99) - Wheee, due to some extraneous electrical damage and a sweet warranty, the WebMonkey has a brand new computer and is feeling so happy about it that there's some updates. There are now pictures of the DBA Staff Members on the Contact the DBA Institute page. Also, I'd just like to say that the DBA Message Board has been up for over a month now and is getting a pretty interesting turnout. So go check it out, say hi, and post a little.

(1/31/99) - Okay, the Institute's mainframe is back online and it's about time for some updates. Be sure to check out the winner of the David Bowie's Area Reference Contest. Thank you all for your patience.

(1/5/99) - ARRGGHH!! My computer is broken. It's in the shop. My hard drive is with it, including the mailing list, all my pictures, and all the entrances in the DBA Obscure Reference contest. This could take a while folks, so all updates, including announcing the winner of the contest, are indefinately postponed.
Sorry about this, everybody.

(10/22/98) - I'm going to update this place soon, really I am. In fact, I've been thinking of revamping the front page pretty soon because there's actually beginning to be a lot of stuff on the site. Who'd of figured?
Anyway, the big news lately is that somebody has actually expressed a commercial interest in this site. So here's the deal: If you enjoy what you see here at the DBA webpage, please go to Soundstone.com and buy some CDs. You all know you want more music, we all do, so why not do me a favor and buy it from these nice people? Personally I've bought several CDs online and it's a great way to get those hard to find imports, older albums, and obscure bands. At least go check it out, please.

(9/16/98) - We're having a big party here at the DBA Institute because this month marks the One-Year anniversary of the First, Only, and Best Webpage devoted exclusively to David Bowie's Area. So commerate the event I've finally gotten around to putting up a web counter and we're throwing a contest! Click here for details. The winner gets their picture put up on the page!

(7/14/98) - IMPORTANT: Due to a computer failure, if you asked to be put on the DBA Mailing List prior to July 1st, 1998, you must e\mail me again with your request. The entire mailing list was lost. Please tell the person who told you about this site, and anyone else you know who has been here. This is the only way for me to recover the mailing list!

(5/18/98) - Well, the David Bowie's Area Institute has gotten settled into its summer home and I'm finally going to do some long-needed updates. I apologize to everyone for going so long without them, and especially to anybody whom I told there'd be new stuff "soon."
But today I've done some minor updates and there will be more new things posted in a few days.
Really, I mean it this time.

(1/24/97) - Today we launch a very large (by our standards) update of the David Bowie's Area Webpage and something new: The David Bowie's Area Mailing List. Nobody actually asked to be on the mailing list, but we here at the DBA Institute firmly believe in pushing our views on the unwitting public, whether they want 'em or not!
Actually, the mailing list is just everybody who's e\mailed me over the past few months. And it's not really going to be a regular thing either, I just wanted to let everyone know that there's a lot of new stuff right now.

Also I'd like to thank all of you for coming to see the site that started it all, the First Official David Bowie's Area Webpage! (Granted, "it all" is basically just this one page.) We're now averaging 150-200 hits per week!
Sadly, the webmaster's homepage only gets about 20 hits per week, so maybe you should go Check it out, because nobody else is.
