These are just things I write, okay? Sometimes they're profound insights or funny stories and I'm really proud of them. Other times it's mindless rhetoric that I've since completely changed my mind about and am ashamed of. But most of the time it's just words.

Rememberance

We have been asked, both as a nation and as individuals, to make today a day for remembering the dramatic and tragic events of one year ago. If you were having any trouble remembering the events of one year ago today, which included planes flying into buildings and pretty much everybody you know saying "Holy shit" repeatedly, then you need to get some serious mental help and maybe cut back on whatever chemicals you've been overdoing.

In the meantime, I'd like to ask that in addition to remembering the tragic loss of life and the amazing heroism of one year ago we also all take a moment to remember one very important thing from before September 11th, 2001: George W. Bush is a moron.
But seriously, the sheer stupidity of our un-elected President is less important than the fact that he's a willing pawn of corporate power, a short-sighted fanatic who sees violence as the first solution to everything, an evasive hypocrite, an oppressor of all that IS truly good about America, and a frequent masturbater. (Okay, we're just making an educated guess on that last one, based on his gender.) Following the terrorist attacks a year ago, President Junior's short-sighted, violent, and self-serving "leadership" raised the public opinion of this unrepentant Texan considerably. America ignored his incompentant policies and reckless treaty-breaking, just so long as he kept promising horrific retribution against ... well, somebody, anybody! At that point nobody knew or cared who it was as long as somebody was going to get bombed.

Anyway, I've rambled a bit. The point is: mourn the loss of life, be sad about the tragedy, be proud of yourself and your country, be angry at the inhumanity and blind injustice of it all. But don't let the rampant emotionalism of it all blur your judgement. Don't let violence lead to violence. Don't let your security eclipse your freedom. Don't become what you hate.
