Layers of Pretend

This is something Kip sent me from a Magic: The Gathering forum.

Q: Once I made infinite sliver tokens, and my friend told me I can't make infinite tokens; I need to choose a number. I told him infinity IS a number and that astronomers and mathematicians use it in equations all the time. He said, "Well, you're not an astronomer OR a mathemawhatever, so you can't use it." And I said, "But I could be." So he said, "But you're not." And then I told him, "Well right now we're pretending to be mystical mages battling each other on a parallel plane of existence, and if this mystical mage wants to pretend to be an astrophysicist for a f***ing second and a half, well, then, he's going to be." And then he called me a mean name, and I don't think we're friends anymore.
