These are just things I write, okay? Sometimes they're profound insights or funny stories and I'm really proud of them. Other times it's mindless rhetoric that I've since completely changed my mind about and am ashamed of. But most of the time it's just words.

This Morning

Wheels within wheels, schemes within schemes. Everything is falling into place perfectly! Soon the delectable spider will fall helplessly into my- What the hell? Curse you, unseasonably pleasant weather! CURRRRSSE YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUUUU!

Overheard part of a story on the news: Apparently a man has been arrested for conspiring to train the Sept 11th terrorists to fly airline planes. Officials say they first suspected he was a potential terrorist back when he entered flight school and "told instructers he only wanted to learn how to steer a plane, not take off or land."
Yeah, I can see how they might consider that suspicious. You think they might have guessed that he didn't intend a traditional hijacking from the "Don't need to land" part of that. Good work.

Also in the news, a student at Sewanee, "The University of the South" slid down what friends said he "thought was a book chute." It was not, in fact, a "book chute" but rather a "trash compactor" and the young man was immediately crushed.
In these troubled times, sometimes we need to be reminded that death is not always tragic. Sometimes it can be seen as a necessary end to pain or, as this student has demonstrated, completely hilarious. While I do feel sorry for the family of this 12"x12" cube during for their loss, I can't help but be happy that the average intelligence level of the entire human race has just fractionally increased. That, and can't help laughing my head off. Natural selection at its finest, assuming "not climbing into trash compactors" is a desirable survival trait. And apparently it is.
