Every once in a while you get a second chance. I know that better than most people, I think, and I assure you that even though a great retry falls in your lap sometimes, you shouldn't just wait for opportunity to knock twice.
In fact, you really shouldn't wait for it to knock the first time, either. You should be watching through a crack in the mini-blinds for it to be walking down the sidewalk and then you need to run out there, throw a burlap sack over its head, tie it up, and drag it back to your house. And if it's walking on the other side of the street, run faster.
