Good Friends vs. Bad Friends

This has become quite the controversy w/ my own friends lately and I’m not quite sure why I’ve let it go on this long. This is my life and I will pick the friends I want to hang out with. If you are my friend and you don’t care to hang out with certain other friends of mine, you don’t have, too. I can’t believe I actually listened to certain crap about people being good friends and bad friends for this long honestly. None of my friends are bad friends in my eyes or I wouldn’t be hanging out with them. The only part I agree with is that some of my friends are not the greatest influence on me but that’s my bad, no one else’s. I’m sick and tired of being lectured (yes, it is considered being lectured even if you didn’t mean for it to be…for the record) on who I should hang out with and shouldn’t. Frankly, everyone of my friends at one point or another has pissed me off enough to not hang out with them for awhile including the one lecturing me daily on how to live my life. So what if one friend made a not so great sexual comment about me? He was drunk and he said he was sorry the next day when confronted. Shit happens. Can I honestly say I haven’t said a not so kool comment about him and he just didn’t hear about it? Hell no. That would mean that I am a bad friend myself, but I don’t see it that way. Why is everyone all up in my business about my friends and what I do when their lives aren’t so perfect either? A real friend stands behind you no matter what you do or who you want to hang out. To finally put an end to this controversy, I will be friends with whomever I want and no one can stop me. And, if I choose to not speak or hang out with one friend one day but want to the next, IT’S MY LIFE!
